Community - Parents' Association

The Sacred Heart Parent Association is an important, vibrant part of the Sacred Heart School/Parish community. All parents of Sacred Heart are members of the Parent Association and, as such, are invited and welcome to be part of the broad range of activities that the Parent Association is involved in.

The primary objective of the Sacred Heart PA is a dual one, Fundraising and ‘Friendraising’ - for the welfare and benefit of the students, the parent community, the teachers, the school and parish. The financial support that the PA is able to provide for the school is important as it does contribute significantly to the programs of the school. But, the Sacred Heart PA also emphasises and values strongly the relationship building that is inherent in so many of the social functions facilitated by the PA. This “Friendraising” focus ensures a strong sense of community.

The Parent Association Committee co-ordinates its activities, assisted by parent Class Representatives from all year levels and meets regularly with the Principal and Parish Priest. The PA also nominates a member to sit on the Parish Education Board, the body that formally brings together all key stakeholders to advise the Principal and the Parish Priest on the effective management of the school.
