Learning & Teaching - S.T.E.M

The Victorian Government has stated that, “Significant changes in Victoria’s economy mean there is a greater need for STEM capabilities than ever before” and Over the next 10 years we want to see a significant improvement in STEM achievement in schools.”

At Sacred Heart, we take this imperative very seriously. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics are taught at every grade level throughout the school using an inter-disciplinary approach. This approach fosters deep learning as students develop their critical and creative thinking, communication and collaboration skills, and capacity as designers.

We use a variety of tools and strategies for STEM education at Sacred Heart such as iPads, Chromebooks, iMacs, Windows computers, robotic devices, wooden building blocks and we have a particular focus on team work.
